Ursula Owusu-Ekuful relishes victory

Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma West, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has expressed confidence of winning the New Patriotic Party (NPP) upcoming parliamentary primaries hands down.

According to the Communications Minister, the delegates are solidly behind her, following the massive developments and transformational agenda her administration had brought to change the life for the constituents.

Mrs Owusu-Ekuful said this on Friday when she submitted her nomination form to the Chairman of the Election Committee of the Ablekuma West office to contest the upcoming parliamentary primary slated on April 25.

Mrs Owusu-Ekuful addressing a mini rally after submitting her form, said, this was not the time for the party to do an experiment in the parliament primaries with some new faces.

“For the three years the NPP has been in power, I have been able to lobby for developmental projects, that is how come most of the inner-roads in the constituency are being constructed.

Ablekuma West deserves better and this is not the time to conduct any experiment. We cannot afford to leave the constituency in the hands of trainees and people who do not have the necessary experience.

I have been tried and tested, gone through the mill, so I urge you all to give me a resounding victory on April 25,” Mrs Owusu-Ekuful said.

She urged the hundreds of delegates and party supporters from the constituency who thronged the party’s office as they went on a procession through the principal streets of Dansoman, to renew her mandate.

“I admonish parliamentary aspirants and supporters to conduct campaigns devoid of insults and character assassination to ensure peace and tranquility prevail after the primary, “she said.

In other development Albert Kan Dapaah Jr, son of the Minister of National Security’s quest to contest as the parliamentary candidate of Ablekuma West hit a block last week Monday as he struggled to pick a nomination form.

Accompanied by his supporters, they were denied the nomination forms at the party office in Dansoman, a suburb of Accra, following the unavailability of the constituency chairman.

According to his supporters, the absence of the constituency chairman was part of a scheme to ensure that the incumbent Member of Parliament for the area, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, went unopposed in the upcoming primary.
