The opposition NDC’s parliamentary candidate for Okaikoi North, Theresah Awuni, has chastised Minister of Communications, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, over her recent comments describing them as “insulting.”
The Minister in a video that has gone viral described Ghanaians, who keep complaining that the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) has underperformed, as witches.
Speaking to party supporters, Mrs Owusu-Ekuful, who is also the MP for Ablekuma West, said, “If someone complains that since the NPP came he/she has not benefitted anything ask the person if he or she did not hear it raining when he/she got out and saw it is wet didn’t he/she see? Is this not witchcraft?”
But Theresah Awuni believes the Minister must apologise to Ghanaians, stressing that Ghanaians ought to complain about the governance of President Akufo-Addo because he has not delivered as he promised Ghanaians.
Speaking on Inside Politics on Power 97.9 FM, Madam Awuni said the Minister disrespected Ghanaians because to her, it is not only members of the opoosition parties that are complaining about the nonperformance of the Akufo-Addo adminsitration.
“Ursula must apologise to Ghanaians because the street hawkers who are suffering are not witches, the workers who can’t purchase what they need because of the high cost living under this government are not witches,”she added.
To her the arrogance of the minister must be condemned by all Ghanaians.
