Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West Ursula Owusu Ekuful is providing 50 women training in cosmetology as part of a bespoke programme to empower women in her constituency.
The two-year training which is squeezed into six weeks is the first of its kind according to the trainers with the trainees being given a 10 per cent theory and a 90 per cent practicals.
The trainees will go home with a starter pack containing; two mannequins needles, 10 bottles of shampoo, 10 bottles of conditioner, two bottles of hair glue, two bottle of spritz, two bottles of hair oil, one bundle of sewing thread, 20 pieces of extensions among others
Commenting briefly on the training, Mr Owusu Ekuful, who is also Ghana’s Communications Minister said, “We want them to go home with the skills. This is a real classroom experience.”
She said the training is being carried out in partnership with ck55 Hair Sense and the trainees will be awarded certificates at the end of their course.
