Use Ramadan to repair relations - Hajia Keltu

Tema, Oct. 6, GNA - The observance of Ramadan is not just a ritual, but a time for Muslims to repair relations with neighbours, Hajia Sirina Keltu, Greater Accra Regional President of the Federation of Muslims Women of Ghan= a (FOMWAG), has explained.

She said Ramadan also presents an opportunity for the entire Muslim community to come together and work towards the betterment of society. Hajia Keltu was speaking at a Ramadan Seminar organized by FOMWAG at Madina near Accra on the theme: 93Reinforcing a sense of Unity 96 The rol= e of Ramadan" recently. She urged Muslims to use the Holy month of Ramadan (ninth month on the Islamic calendar) to offer more prayers and to ask for forgiveness for past sins committed against Allah and their neighbours. She said the Ramadan teaches the Muslim to share the burdens of others= , especially the underprivileged in society. The Regional President said Muslims must be aware of the significance of unity as a universal humanitarian principle, and endeavour to live harmoniously.

Hajia Keltu said FOMWAG would through education unite Muslim Women and their families, communities and the country as a whole. Speaking on the theme of the seminar, Alhalji Ibrahim Baidoo, Director Al-haq Islamic School at Ashaiman, said the good deeds of man would always be rewarded by Allah. He said Muslims should by actions show the true teachings of Islam eve= n after the Ramadan. Alhalji Baidoo charged members of FOMWAG to use the occasion to ensure unity in their marriages and be charitable towards humanity.
