Use end-of-year get-togethers to appraise work - DCE

Saltpond (C/R), Jan. 8, GNA - The District Chief Executive for Mfantseman, Mr Robert Quainoo-Arthur has urged workers to use end-of-year get-togethers to appraise their work for the year and to re-strategies for improvement in the ensuing year. "End-of-year parties should not be for drinking, eating and dancing alone they should serve as platforms for taking stock of our performance", the DCE stated.

Mr Quainoo-Arthur gave the advice at an end-of-year get-together organized by the Mfantseman District Directorate of Education for the staff of the Directorate and heads of the senior secondary schools in the District.


The DCE commended the staff of the directorate for dedication to duty and urged them to intensify their supervisory roles to make teachers to be alive to their duties.


He urged them to monitor how the Capitation Grant was being utilized in the schools to avoid misappropriation. Mr Quainoo-Arthur commended the District Director Miss Vivian Etroo for extending invitations to the heads of the senior secondary schools in the area and calls for closer ties between the directorate and teachers.

Miss Etroo exhorted the staff to work harder than before this year to raise the standard of education in the District. She expressed gratitude to the District Assembly for its support for educational programmes and gave the a ssurance that "no stone would be left unturned" in improving standard.


Ms Agnes Hawkson, Headmistress of Mankessim Secondary Technical School, who spoke on behalf of the heads of second cycle schools thanked the Directorate for involving them in their activities and expressed the hope that it would be the beginning of stronger ties between the Directorate and the schools.
