Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur at the weekend extolled the virtue of humility and service without complaint in all spheres of human endeavour.

He said both God and man recognises and reward selfless service in due time.

The Vice President was speaking during the induction of the Right Reverend Thomas Brown Forson also called Kwesi Nyarko, as the Tema Diocesan Bishop of the Methodist Church, Ghana.

The ceremony was performed by the Rt Rev Professor Emmanuel Kwaku Asante, Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church, Ghana, at the Tema St Paul’s Methodist Church premises for Rt Rev Forson, who has been in full time ministry for the past 30 years in various capacities.

It was attended by traditional rulers from Tema and Agona Duakwa- the hometown of the inductee, as well as academicians and people from the political divide.

Vice President Amissah-Arthur expressed the need for leaders to detach themselves from partisanship to enable them effectively discharge their responsibilities.

Rt Rev Asante observed that leadership is a divine calling, and so those in authority should go about their responsibilities according to the one who called them, and rely on the strength of God and fearlessly tackle their assignments without fear or favour.

They should also beware of sycophants who sing praises just to win favour.

“The Lord chose you and appointed you. You owe your election and appointment to God,” Rt Rev Asante said.

“Learn to seek Gods grace and the unction.… You cannot do without God. If you push him aside, you’ll fail.

The Rt Rev Forson who expressed gratitude for how far God has brought him succeeded the Rt Rev Winfred Yao Ametefe, who is on retirement.
