PRESS RELEASE

We the Concerned Supporters of H E Aliu Mahama’s Presidential Campaign Team are deeply disturbed by the recent publications about the Vice President. It is very unfortunate that some individuals are desperately trying to bring the Vice President name into public ridicule by their publications and utterances.

On the basis of recent publications, we are convinced that some individuals are bent on destroying the good image of the Vice President Aliu Mahama and their attempt to derail his Presidential Campaign train is being carefully monitored.

While we appreciate one’s freedom of expression, we wish to remind everyone of our interest in facts rather than opinions and other information, which are distorted and completely untrue. Again, we implore anyone wishing to publish anything about the Vice President to verify the source of his/her information and desist from this unhealthy attack on his personality.

The NPP will go to congress shortly to elect it’s Presidential Candidate and when there are indications that the Vice President will soon declare his Candidature, we will plead with individuals to be mindful of the spirit of unity and fair play.

As the race to occupy the top seat heats up, there is the likelihood for supporters of other Candidates or from other political persuasion to publish or say things that will diminish other aspirants’ chances, but we must remind all that they should be guided by journalistic ethics.

We should all learn to respect the seat of the Vice President as the second most powerful position of the land not because of who occupies it but for what it is.

The support for the HE Aliu Mahama candidature is overwhelming both within Ghana and outside the country and urge all concern to respect the Office of The Vice President as such.

GOD BLESSES GHANA.
