Veep visits new University of Ghana super tertiary hospital

The Vice president Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has paid a working visit to the New University of Ghana Super Tertiary Hospital that is 96 percent completion.

Addressing journalist after the tour He described what he what he saw as very impressive and a well laid out Hospital.

Mr Amissah-Arthur said this is a very unique medical centre that would help minimise medical tourism where huge sums of moneys are spent outside the country.

The project was started Under the Late Mills Administration with funding from Israel and was continued by President John Mahama.

Professor Aron Lawson the project coordinator took the Vice President around the the project.

When completed the hospital is a quaternary hospital facility that is expected to provide a cutting edge Medical training and research for various health professionals in the country.

its is also expected to provide Sub specialist service's in the following areas, surgery, radiology, (including interventional radiology), Internal Medicine, Pharmacy, Obstetrics, and Gynecology, (including Assisted Reproductive Technology) Paediatrics, Anaesthesia, Medical Education (including a Robotic Simulation training) Accidents and Emergency Services, and Mortuary. Also included support services.

Phase one has 652 beds, Phase 2-400 beds giving a grand total to 1000 Beds.
