Venture Capital Trust CEO vies for Asutifi South NPP seat

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Venture Capital Trust Fund (CVTF), Yaw Owusu Brempong, has submitted his nomination forms to contest for the parliamentary seat of the Asutifi South Constituency on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Yaw Owusu Brempong is a key figure who championed the creation of the Ahafo Region.

The aspirant has condemned hooliganism and political violence in Ahafo Region, and called for something pragmatic to be done to save the image of the new region to kick-start development.

According to Yaw Owusu Brempong, popularly called Yaw Broni, one of the regions lagging behind in terms of development is Ahafo, which is attributed to the spate of hooliganism and political violence said to be scaring investors away.

Yaw Broni said due to this, there were several areas in the region where people are unable to move freely and express themselves as expected, and it is not the best, since the country’s constitution grants free movement and expression to all.

He pledged to support of the President and all stakeholders to combat the menace in the region.
