VIDA Nsiah, a national female sprinter pursuing further studies in the US has attributed her present achievements to the good counselling and encouragement she received from her alma mater and the headmaster of her former secondary school.

A letter to Mr Frederick Acheampong, Headmaster of Osei Kyeretwie Secondary School (OKESS), Vida's alma mater, noted that she has realised that all the advice Mr Acheampong gave have been useful.

"Thank you for your advice and encouragement that you gave me when I was in school, especially concerning my athletics and studies.

"Now I realise that everything you said was true and in fact if I am to point out those who are influential for my present success in life -you are number one," the letter said in part.

Vida's letter which was displayed on the school's notice board noted that not only has she improved upon her communication skills with Mr Acheanpong's advice but also she can ran faster than before and expressed the hope to break the national records in 100 and 200 metres respectively.

Vida recently equalled the 25-year-old record set by Alice Anum in 100 metres in the just ended Mobil Championships held at the Kumasi Stadium.
