Three years ago on May 22, 2020, Senior Minister Yaw Osafo-Maafo stated that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will extensively name and shame corrupt officials in the country.

Mr. Yaw Osafo-Maafo at a CEO’s Summit held on May 22, 2017, in Accra said an office will be created at the presidency where businesses can directly report corrupt state officials whose names will be published in the newspapers along with other punitive penalties.

“A Business Reporting Bureau at which corrupt activities of staff and officers of State-Owned Enterprises, regulatory institutions, revenue agencies, and the public and civil service will be reported to will be established. To ensure that action is taken against these persons reported, their wrongdoings will be published on a quarterly basis or in certain periods all complaints and steps that are being taken by these persons,” he indicated.

According to the Senior Minister, President Akufo-Addo has planned to move his administration into a phase characterized by action, not words.

“My administration believes that the fight against corruption must move into its new phase – a phase characterized by action, not words and one inspired by a collective desire of our people to see a deadly but enduring practice ending,” he quoted the president.
