Video: Soldier Bar continues to breed prostitutes

The infamous prostitution joint, Soldier Bar located at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra, continues to gain notoriety in spite a highly publicized closure by authorities. The place took centre stage is several publications following a series of investigations that revealed that several minors were engaging in prostitution in the area. Reports from then seemed to indicate that the facility, which is primarily a drinking bar, had been closed down.

However, Soldier Bar is still in operation and just last Friday night, the AMA Police at circle received a case in which a young prostitute and her friends stole money from a customer will the two were having sexual intercourse. When the young boy realised that his pair of trousers was no where to be found, he raised the alarm and soon some boys in the neighbourhood came to inquire about what was going on. The boys started beating the suspected girls until the cacophony was moved into the police station.

Mr Acheampong, the police in charge on the night revealed that this was a frequent happening in the area. She therefore called on the authorities to take appropriate action, since the police in the area isn't well resourced to handle most of the often violent incidents that take place in the area due to the activities of prostitutes.
