The video has drawn sharp criticism from users online
A viral video circulating on social media capturing a man whipping street beggars at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle Interchange in Accra has sparked widespread condemnation.
In the footage, shared on X on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, the unidentified man was seen wielding a rope and chasing the beggars who appear to be fleeing in fear.
The video has drawn massive criticism from social media users who described the act as inhumane and unjustifiable.
They also called on the Ghana Police Service to investigate the incident and take appropriate action against the man involved.
“They might be annoying but this is not the right thing to do,” One user wrote.
Another wrote, “This is not humanity. Just because we don't want them on the road doesn't mean we should treat them badly. What he did was wrong, and thank God a car hadn't hit one of them.”
“That's the word I hate, took the law into his hand, what are the law enforcers also doing?” one more user added.

He should be arrested immediately. You can lash people on the streets because they’re begging, what about those begging online?? @GhPoliceService find and arrest him immediately

Oh naa that’s not the right thing to do, he can be arrested for assault

That’s disturbing and completely out of line. No matter the frustration, taking the law into your own hands and assaulting vulnerable people is unjustifiable he should face legal consequences for that.
