A viral video of Prophet Eric Boahen-Uche, the founder of Reign House Chapel International, prophesying about the health of the then Vice President-elect Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang on December 31, 2024, has surfaced online amidst her recent health concerns.

In the video, the prophet is heard calling for prayers for Professor Opoku-Agyemang, cautioning against an alleged orchestration on her health.

Addressing his congregation, Prophet Boahen-Uche stated, “See, let us pray for our mother, the vice president… it is not about death, but sickness, so, let us pray that God gives her good strength… she needs it. And let us also pray that anybody orchestrating against her to take her position will be disgraced; if not, our father John Dramani Mahama will be working, and his vice president won’t be in good health.”

Meanwhile, Eric Adjei, a former Deputy Spokesperson for Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang during the 2024 election campaign and now the Acting Chief Executive Officer of NEIP, has provided an update on her health status.

In a social media post on March 30, 2025, Adjei assured the public that the vice president is in good health, alleviating concerns about recent reports regarding her well-being.

“Our mother, the vice president, is in good health, thanks to God's grace. I've received updates from the team, and Mum is doing very well by His grace,” he posted on Facebook.

His statement comes after an official communiqué from the presidency confirmed that the vice president had fallen ill and received medical attention on Friday, March 28, 2025.

According to Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to the President and Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Prof Opoku-Agyemang was treated at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) following a sudden illness after work hours.

“The Vice President, Her Excellency Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, received treatment at the University of Ghana Medical Centre on Saturday due to a sudden illness that occurred after work on Friday, March 28, 2025.

“Based on expert medical opinion, she will seek further care abroad,” it added.
