The National Development Planning Commission (NDPC) will be launching a long-term development plan for Ghana, dubbed the "Vision 2057 Long-Term National Development Perspective Framework."

In a statement issued on Monday, May 27, 2024, the Director-General of the NDPC, Dr. Kodjo Esseim Mensah-Abrampa, stated that Vision 2057 would serve as a guiding framework leading Ghana through the next phase of its development process.

He noted that the framework would help unearth the country's full potential and improve the lives of ordinary Ghanaians.

"Vision 2057 is a bold blueprint that will guide our nation's trajectory as we embark on the next chapter of our development. By integrating economic, social, and environmental priorities, this framework will unlock Ghana's full potential and secure the maximum welfare and happiness of our citizens," Dr. Mensah-Abrampa said.

The Director-General also stated that the plan would ensure no Ghanaian is left behind, as it aims for all-inclusive growth.

He further mentioned that Ghana's long-term development plan would cement the country's role as a beacon of democracy in Africa and the world.

"This is a non-prescriptive, all-inclusive framework that lays the groundwork for Ghana's transformation into an upper middle-income country by 2057. Our nation is poised to play a leading and influential role in regional and global affairs, propelled by our commitment to inclusivity, sustainability, and good governance."

The release outlined a comprehensive strategy centred around key drivers of transformation, including:

• Achieving and sustaining macroeconomic stability

• Fostering an empowering culture of social cohesion

• Ensuring peace, security, and effective public institutions

• Enhancing human capital development and productivity

• Advancing science, technology, and innovation

• Implementing sustainable infrastructure and clean energy solutions.
