In keeping with its tradition of celebrating women in Africa and with a commitment to empowering women and making their dreams come through, Vlisco has officially launched the 'Vlisco Women’s Month and its 2018 brand Ambassador for Ghana”.
The annual event which coincided with the International Women’s Day, 8 march saw Mrs. Edith Uyovbukerhi, CEO of GN Foods being unveiled as the new brand ambassador.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Marketing Director of Vlisco, Reverend Stephen Badu said, women all over the world need to be celebrated for the work they do, adding that “African women, in particular, have formed the very inspiration behind the style, distinctiveness, and creativity of Vlisco fabrics since its inception”.
According to him, the Vlisco brand is proud to associate itself with women working hard every day to achieve their dreams
He said, “these women are worthy of commendation and adoration and we at Vlisco say Ayekoo”.
Introducing the new Ambassador, Rev. Badu elaborated on her extensive humanitarian work, particularly with regards to the empowerment of women.
"Aside from her work towards a better life for preterm babies and their mothers, our new Ambassador is a strong believer that the African woman is uniquely placed by way of heritage to be a formidable force for advancement and achievement of women globally,” he said.

About Vlisco Ambassador 2018
Mrs. Edith Uyovbukerhi is the 2018 Vlisco Ambassador, taking over the mantle from Mrs. Regina Honu of Soronko Solutions. Mrs. Uyovbukerhi is the CEO of GN Foods, a manufacturing company involved in the production of high quality tomato paste brands for the local and export market.
She is also renowned for her work with LittleBigSouls, an international charity organisation.
