The Vodafone Ghana Foundation, through its Health Fest initiative, will provide a free healthcare to the people of Koforidua and its surrounding communities on August 29 at the Koforidua Jackson Park.

A statement issued by the Vodafone Foundation and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra said the programme was expected to provide over 500 people free medical screening and advice and free medication for specific diseases.

It said apart from the medical screening, the Foundation would also create a gym and aerobics section to give advice and promote healthy lifestyle and wellbeing in the community.

“So far, over 2,000 people have benefitted from HealthFest, which is a yearlong initiative introduced by the Vodafone Foundation to offer free quality healthcare to rural communities within the country to improve access to quality healthcare,” it said.

According to the Foundation, the initiative was aimed at improving lives in deprived communities, adding that it was passionate about championing health issues in the country.
