Vodafone Ghana Foundation has organised free medical screening for residents of Alajo to alert them on the need to have constant checks on their health.

The exercise, which was organised under an initiative dubbed: “Healthfest,” was undertaken at places that were mostly affected by the June 3 flood such as Alajo, Dansoman, Tema New Town, and Nungua.

Nana Yaa Ofori-Koree, Director of the Foundation said the support was part of Vodafone’s Corporate Social Responsibility to meet victims halfway with their health and basic needs.

She said it is necessary to educate residents on poor sanitation related diseases such as cholera and malaria.

The Director said the foundation has also donated medical supplies and other assistance worth £ 100,000 to the June 3 twin disaster victims.

Beneficiaries of the exercise expressed gratitude to the foundation for rallying a team of qualified health personnel to come to their doorsteps with free education and examination of their health status.
