Voltic Ghana gets new plant at Akwadum

Voltic Ghana Limited has reiterated its commitment to offer quality mineral water to consumers.

The company said it would continue to adhere to best manufacturing processes and standards to maintain its top notch quality for consumer satisfaction.

Mr Philip Redman, the General Manager of the company, gave the assurance at a media tour of its new plant at Akwadum near Nsawam in the Eastern Region.

The tour was to solidify the relationship with the media and deepen stakeholder confidence in the company’s operations.

“We will never compromise on quality as we have the health and satisfaction of our customers at heart. Voltic will continue to lead the way with innovative packaging and merchandising,” he added.

He said the company has 70 per cent market share and is bent on remaining a market leader as it marks its 20th year of operating in the country.

Mr Redman said as part of its corporate social responsibility, the company had painted the offices at the Nsawam Police station and re-constructed a bridge at Medie to facilitate vehicular traffic as well as support the local school in Medie since 2012.

He said production at the new plant started in 2014 with 6,000 bottles of mineral water a day, 5000 bags of sachet water a day and a dispenser production of 4,500 bottles a day.

Mr Redman said 3.5 million dollars was used to establish the new plant and there are plans to spend an additional one million dollars in the next 18 months to expand capacity.

Mr Eugene Djan-Simpson, Plant Manager at the new site, explained that production of the mineral water went through various stages from the boreholes, water storage, water treatment, various filtration and purification stages, and packaging for quality water.
