Volunteers from the Jasikan District of the Volta Region last Sunday engaged nine highway robbers in a shoot out. They managed to kill one and rounded up the remaining eight, including a woman. This was after the robbers had attacked traders on one of the main roads.
Luck run out of the robbers when the driver of one of the vehicles the robbers attacked sneaked to alert the Apesokubi community.
The Hohoe Divisional Crime Officer, DSP Jacob Attinah, told the GNA that when the police searched the robbers, one locally made pistol and two million cedis were found on them.
