The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary candidate for Effiduasi -Asokore constituency Dr Nana Ayew Afriyie has called on the electorate to vote against the Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) government describing it ‘as a promise and fail party’.

He observed that the NDC has reneged on its promises leaving the constituency in a deplorable condition adding that the constituency is lagging behind in developments.

He bemoaned the poor state of schools in the area where pupils suspend studies when it rains adding that patients in the Effiduase government hospital also sleep on the bare floor due to lack of beds.

Speaking during Ultimate FM’s outreach programme ‘Kumasi speaks’ at the Effiduase station hosted by Lantam Papanko, Dr Afriyie lashed out at the NDC government for deceiving Ghanaians especially those in the constituency for the past 8 years.

‘Ghanaians are suffering and people of Effiduasi and Asokore are also suffering due to the harsh economic conditions in the country.

Taxi drivers are always visiting the mechanics due to the poor road network. NDC is a promise and fail party, they have failed Ghanaians, they are full of empty promises,’ he fumed.

He promised to establish a corn processing factory to process corn dough in commercial quantities for export assuring them of his resolve to facilitate projects for the constituency when voted.

‘Though I have not been elected yet, I have built KVIPs (public toilet) for some communities, donated 50 bags of cement for the slaughter house, have donated roofing sheets and cement to Asokore Zongo, next week will donate 30 bags of cement to Effiduase community. I bought sand for road repairs.

I used my own money to provide all these . We have to vote for a politician who is willing to support his constituents with his own money without solely relying on District Assemblies Common fund.

I will facilitate developments when voted into power, will also ensure that sanitation is improved in our villages.

We will build more classrooms, provide jobs for the teeming youth in the constituency, refurbish the hospital and give scholarships to brilliant but needy children’ he assured.

The parliamentary hopeful advised Ghanaians to vote peacefully during the December polls, indicating that the election is not about maiming or killing one another.
