In every civilized world, one is expected to learn from the elderly and even the Holy Bible buttress that in Proverbs 22:6 which says: “train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it”.
But the NDC Member of Parliament for Juaboso Constituency, Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh believes General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie’s recent behaviour is indefensible.
According to him, it will be catastrophic for any budding politician to look up to the NPP bigwig as a mentor after his unjustifiable spewing of invectives.
The Supreme Court hearing the 2012 election petition after sentencing Stephen Atubiga and Ken Kuranchie to 3 and 10 days imprisonment respectively for contempt, has once again summoned the NPP’s Chief Scribe, and another communications team member, Hopeson Adorye, for the same offence.
They are to appear before the court on August 14, 2013 to defend their comments.
But speaking on Adom FM, the NDC MP stated that despite party affiliation, he does not hesitate to learn from some members on the other side of the political divide, but Sir John is certainly not one of them.
“For me as a young politician, I am learning absolutely nothing from Sir John because as a chief executive of NPP, his utterances have not impacted positively on the party in any way since his inception as the General Secretary of the party (NPP).
“…I have struggled enough to learn something from Sir John and up to now I can say there is nothing positive about him. Sir John should have allowed the young ones to misbehave for him to correct them, but sadly, he rather chooses to pollute the young ones,” he lamented.
He wondered why Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie was voted to serve as the NPP’s General Secretary saying, it is the “greatest harm the NPP party has brought on itself”.
