Mr Gabriel Pwamang, General Secretary of the People's National Convention (PNC) on Sunday said he expected that voting in the 2004 election would be largely based on issues and not on sentiments.
He said the electorate before casting their vote would verify whether the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government has lived up to its electioneering promises or not.
Mr Pwamang was speaking to Journalists during a day's workshop for 55 officials of the PNC comprising Regional and Constituency Executives, in Ho.
The workshop, sponsored by the Institute of Economic Affairs with support from the Netherlands Institute of Multi-Party Democracy, was aimed at strengthening the leadership, organisational and community mobilisation skills of participants.
Mr Pwamang said the PNC would be an alternative to the NPP and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and appealed to Ghanaians to vote for the PNC to enable it form the next government.
The General Secretary said the PNC would concentrate its political activities in constituencies in the Volta Region, where according to him the party has comparative advantage over other parties but did not mention any specific constituencies.
Mr Pwamang, however, said the PNC would win some four seats in the region saying the massive votes won by the NDC in the last general elections was a result of "solidarity" from the people there.
