WAFA 3-0 AshGold - Academy Boys top the table

WAFA SC climbed to the top of the Ghana Premier League for the first time in their history after thumping AshantiGold 3-0 at home on Wednesday.

The Academy Boys had to dig deep to break the defensive strategy adopted by the Miners who are in the relegation mire.

Teenagaer Prince Obeng Ampem rose home to head in Abdul Wahab Ibrahim's cross for the opener in the 20th minute.

After the break, Daniel Lomotey doubled the lead with long range shot which flew past the goalkeeper like a missile on 79 minutes.

At the death, captain Gideon Waja curled in a free-kick just outside the box.

WAFA SC have now gone top of the table with two points lead.
