Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Basic & Secondary Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, has disclosed that he is so far impressed with the conduct of schools partaking in the 2018 West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE), so far.
Dr Adutwum, paid a random visit to the Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School (PRESEC), Legon, Faith Community School at Madina and Achimota Senior High School all in the Greater Accra Region, inspected the candidates and their invigilators in their assigned spaces.
Last year, the Minister of Education, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh cautioned headmasters and headmistresses not to prevent students who had failed to pay their fees from writing the examination.
Dr Adutwum, referencing that instance, said he was happy that no such report had reached him, adding that teachers and their heads should maintain that trend to ensure access for all.
He wished the candidates luck in the examinations.
