Teachers who are invigilating the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSSCE) at Zabzugu Senior High School have incurred the wrath of candidates after they stood their grounds and refused to allow them to cheat.

Unconfirmed reports suggest one of the teachers has been beaten to a pulp and was rushed to a health facility in the area.

MyNewsGH.com’s reporters from the Northern Region that irate students were ripped off foreign materials before being allowed into the examination hall, a development that angered them.

As a result, they pelted stones and other life-threatening objects which saw fear-gripped teachers running for their lives.

In the ensuing melee, some of the teachers it is gathered were hit by the stones and bled but this did not calm the angry students who went on vandalism spree destroying school properties in the process.

A student of the school is quoted as saying “Even though they did not have any pact with their teachers to allow them to cheat, they were reliably informed that teachers from other schools aid their students by allowing them to copy.”

District Chief Executive of Zabzugu Hon. Iddi Ahmed has called for calm in the wake of escalating tension.
