WINNESEC Old Boys donate furniture

Winneba (C/R), Oct. 1, GNA - Members of the North America branch of the Winneba Secondary School (WINNESEC) Old Students Association, have donated Four Thousand Dollars worth of steel chairs to the school. Mr G. E. Yarney, a former Headmaster of the school presented the chairs on behalf of the Association to Mrs Cecilia Kwakye Cofie, Head Mistress of the School at Winneba on Saturday. Mr Yarney said the gesture was the contribution of the North America branch of the Old Students Association to improve facilities in the school.

Receiving the gifts, Mrs Cofie who was the Assistant Head Mistress during the tenure of Mr Yarney expressed the gratitude of the Board of Governors, teachers, workers and students of the school to the donors and promised to take good care of the chairs.


She expressed the hope that other branches of the Association at home and abroad would emulate the gesture to move the school forward. The Right Reverend Jeremiah A. Morrison, Bishop of the Winneba Diocese of the Methodist Church, dedicated the chairs. He prayed that those who would use the furniture would be endowed with divine wisdom to enable them to comprehend the lessons that they would be taught and have retentive memories.

Present at the ceremony coincided with the induction of Mrs Cofie as Head of the school were the MP for Effutu and Deputy Minister of Health, Mr Samuel Kofi Owusu Agyei, Bishop Yaw Boakye Alfred Nyamekye, General Overseer of the Worldwide House of Faith Ministries and other personalities.
