WOMEN PLAN STARTEGY TO WIN POLITICAL POWER

Mon, 4 Dec 1995 Source: --

Two non governmental organisations (NGO's) has called for a women's conference to plan strategies to get more women in politics from 1996. The proposed conference, to be part of preparations towards the 1996 elections, is to among others, identify key issues affecting women, build solidarity across political lines and get political parties to endorse its policy recommendations. These concerns were raised at a seminar on 'Women in Politics' organised by the Women In Law and Development in Africa (WILDAF) and the United Women's Front (UNIWAF), both professional and business women's NGOs.
