Twifo Praso (C/R) July 13, GNA - World Vision International Ghana (WVI) is extending its food security programme to the Twifo-Hemang-Lower-Denkyira District.

Under the scheme WVI would assist the district to contact donors to execute food security and agro-development programmes. Mr Harry Addor, Twifo Praso Area Development Programme Manager of WVI, said this on Monday when he opened a 3-day workshop for stakeholders drawn from the district including farmers, opinion leaders, representatives from the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, National Board for Scale Industries (NBSSI) Social Investment Fund (SIF) and WVI staff.

He said the WVI programme would offer the district another opportunity to improve its food security and appealed to the participants to take the workshop seriously to enable them to contribute to the programme.

Dr Ayo Abifarin, World Vision Africa Food Security Director, said the workshop was aimed at building the capacity of WVI staff and its partners in food security programmes.

Dr Abifarin and Mr Jacob Okraku Ansah another official of WVI later visited Nuamakrom oil palm nursery site, maize demonstration farm at Mampong and some cocoa hi-tech farms in the district.
