Waris has 31 caps for Ghana
In-form Abdul Majeed Waris has surprisingly been left out of Ghana’s final 23 man squad for the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, a Black Stars insider exclusively revealed to Footballmadeinghana.com.
Despite his successful loan spell with FC Nantes last season, where he scored seven goals in all competition.
Waris has been overlooked by coach Kwesi Appiah in favor of Jordan Ayew (Crystal Palace, England), Caleb Ekuban (Trabzonspor, Turkey) and Kwabena Owusu (Leganes, Spain).
The official announcement is expected to be made later today.
The 27-year-old, who has 31 caps under his belt, is yet to make an appearance at the continent’s flagship tournament.
