Kwabena Agyapong, the press Secretary to President Kufuor, has definately lost his job as Press Secretary in Thursday's cabinet reshuffle.
Agyapong was offered the job of deputy minister in charge of sports, but he refused and resigned.
Rumors making the rounds indicate Kwadwo Mpiani, the Chief of Staff, orchestrated his dismissal. His lukewarm relationship with the Chief of Staff is said to have affected the smooth running of the Castle especially with regards to information flow. He however served the President in the last five years with distinction, ending on a high note with his astute and eloquent performance at the recently introduced press briefings at the Castle. Castle sources have confirmed to JoyNEWS that Andrew Awuni, a former deputy information minister is all set to assume the position of President?s Press Secretary
