Mr. Anthony Aggrey, Wassa East District Chief Executive, on Wednesday cut the sod for the commencement of work on a Community Health Planning Services (CHPS) compound at Wassa Dwinase.
The district assembly is financing the project, which would be completed in six months.
In a brief speech, Mr. Aggrey asked the contractor, U.S. Enterprise, to do a good job and complete the project on schedule.
Nana Kweku Yeboah II, Tufuhene of Wassa Dwinase, commended the district assembly for initiating the project to improve healthcare in the area.
He said the health of the people was important because the government could not achieve its developmental targets without a healthy workforce.
Nana Yeboah promised that the Chiefs and people in the area were prepared to release land for the construction of nurses’ quarters.
