The Black Stars have officially begun preparations for their international friendly against Wales with an intense opening training session at Dragon Park in Cardiff.

Ghana’s players reported to camp earlier this week as preparations continue for the June 2 clash, which forms part of the team’s final build-up towards the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The session began with gym work as the players focused on conditioning and recovery before moving onto the pitch for outdoor drills.

The squad later went through stretching routines, passing exercises and shooting drills under the supervision of the technical team.

The goalkeepers were also put through separate training sessions as coaches closely monitored reactions, positioning and distribution.

Several notable names took part in the session, including captain Jordan Ayew, goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, defender Baba Rahman, midfielder Elisha Owusu and winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku.

Others involved included Joseph Anang, Caleb Yirenkyi, Brandon Thomas-Asante and Jerome Opoku as the squad continued to settle into camp.

The atmosphere around the team appeared lively and competitive as players battled for places ahead of the Wales encounter, with head coach Carlos Queiroz expected to use the match to further assess his squad before the World Cup.
