President John Dramani Mahama made a grand entry at the 69th Independence Day celebration held at Jubilee House in Accra on March 6, 2026.

The President, who was led by the First Lady, Lordina Mahama, was accompanied by his Aide-de-Camp (ADC), Colonel Abdul Wahab Issah, in a parade inspection vehicle, waving to the audience as he arrived.

President Mahama was dressed in a locally made Batakari outfit, popularly known as 'fugu', complemented by a matching hat.

Upon arrival at the venue, he exchanged pleasantries with dignitaries present before observing the national anthem.

He then proceeded to inspect the parade and lit the Perpetual Flame of the State.

The programme was graced by former President John Agyekum Kufuor, former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, and the Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Terrance Michael Drew, who attended as the Special Guest of Honour.
