Some New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters in Sekondi, Western Region, were seen washing their opponent's campaign vehicle in a gesture of love, peace, and respect between them and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

In a video shared on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, the NPP women, wearing blue T-shirts with the party's flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's picture printed on them, were seen washing a campaign vehicle of the NDC parliamentary candidate, Blay Nyameke Armah, at a washing bay, much to the admiration of onlookers.

The ladies, who can be said to cherish political tolerance, did not allow the different political party affiliations to stop them from giving the vehicle a good wash.

Ghana has conducted several peaceful elections over the years, winning praise from all around the world for its steady democratic processes and peaceful change of power.

The two main political parties influencing the political scene are the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Despite these achievements, there are underlying problems that pose a threat to democracy itself, such as the rise in polarization, the spread of smear campaigns, and growing intolerance among political party members.

Ghana will conduct general elections on December 7 to elect a president and 275 Members of Parliament to govern the nation for the next four years.

It is expected that peace will prevail before, during, and after the elections.
