Indigenous mining firm Engineers and Planners Co. Ltd. (E&P) has dispatched the final batch of thirty (30) semi-knockdown Caterpillar 785D Dump Truck bucket units to its Tarkwa operations.

This marks the completion of a major equipment delivery aimed at strengthening the company’s mining operations.

According to videos shared online on March 29, 2026, the phased deployment is part of a larger order of high-capacity dump trucks, highlighting E&P’s strategic effort to expand fleet capacity, enhance haulage efficiency, and boost overall productivity at the Tarkwa site.

Designed for large-scale surface mining, the Caterpillar 785D Dump Truck offers high productivity and faster material turnaround times. Its addition to E&P’s fleet is expected to significantly improve operational throughput and efficiency.

E&P has a long-standing history of investment in heavy-duty mining equipment, dating back to 2002. In 2018, the company is reported to have committed an estimated $650 million to its Tarkwa and Damang Mines, with plans to invest an additional $1.2 billion across both sites.

The deployment highlights the continued trend of capital inflows into Ghana’s mining sector, which remains attractive to both local and international investors due to stable regulations, rich mineral reserves, and strong global demand for gold and other resources.

Beyond equipment acquisition, E&P has also invested in infrastructure, workforce development, and technological upgrades, measures that enhance operational resilience and competitiveness.
