The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, took to the dance floor at an event to commemorate his historic visit to the coastal traditional area of Oguaa located in Cape Coast of the Central Region.
The revered King is in the area upon the invitation of the Oguaa Traditional Council to be the guest speaker at the Oguaa Fetu Afahye Grand Durbar scheduled for Saturday, September 7, 2024.
Prior to the festival, a private dinner was held in his honor by the Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Sir Sam Jonah.
Videos from the event captured the Asantehene on the dance floor, delighting attendees with his lively and graceful dance moves.
He danced alongside the former Vice Chancellor of the UCC, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, who is now the running mate of the National Democratic Congress flagbearer John Dramani Mahama in the upcoming general elections.
The pair shared smiles as they danced to vintage Ghanaian highlife music.
Sir Sam Jonah, among other dignitaries, also joined them on the dance floor to showcase their moves.
The Oguaa Fetu Afahye festival, which typically occurs in the first week of September annually, is one of the most significant cultural events in Ghana’s Central Region.
This year’s celebration also marks the 60th anniversary of the festival.
