Reverend Abraham Lamptey, the General Overseer of the Believers House of Worship International, was a special guest at the launch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) 2024 manifesto on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the University of Education, Winneba, in the Central Region.

As a speaker at the event, Rev Lamptey led a passionate worship session that included the NDC’s signature ‘eye zu, eye za’ chants.

In his brief sermon, the preacher encouraged the NDC party and its members to be resilient and courageous, using the metaphor of treading upon serpents and scorpions.

“I have given you the authority to tread on snakes and scorpions. I have given you authority; so, you have the authority, but when it comes to the treading, it’s up to you to tread on snakes and on scorpions, and none shall by any means hurt you. This beautiful afternoon, my question is: are you ready to tread upon? Because the power is already with you. Are you ready to tread upon? Ask your neighbor; are you ready? If I heard you say ‘eye zu,’ then you are ready.”

Worth noting, when Rev. Lamptey asked, "Are you ready?" the audience responded with a resounding ‘eye zu, eye za.’

The event also hosted key party members, including members of the National Executive Committee, the Council of Elders, MPs, and distinguished guests from various sectors, musicians and clergymen.

The major highlights of the NDC manifesto were on the ailing economy, employment, agriculture, cocoa sector, healthcare, education, sports, governance, judiciary, entertainment, among others.
