In an effort to maintain the integrity of the ruling New Patriotic Party's parliamentary primary rerun in Walewale, the police were compelled to fire warning bullets.
The former NPP Yagaba-Kubori Chairman, Kamara Bawa stole a ballot box, causing a disruption in the sifting of the ballot papers.
Due to the intense competition between Special Advisor to the Vice President Dr. Mahama Tia Kabiru and current MP Hajia Lariba Zuweratu, sorting had to be stopped.
The police fired warning shots and arrested the suspect.
Since then, the box has been delivered to the police station, and the suspect is presently being held.
