Watch as officials flog young men sleeping on railway tracks

A disturbing video of officials believed to be from the Ghana Railway Security beating two young men found sleeping on a bench placed on railway tracks has sparked reactions on social media.

In the video circulating on social media and sighted by GhanaWeb on May 31, 2026, the two men are seen fast asleep on a bench positioned on a railway track.

The officials could be heard in the video questioning why the men were sleeping on the tracks.

"Ebe here you dey sleep," the officials could be heard saying while flogging them.

The men, believed to be officials from the railway department, were seen approaching the sleeping men with sticks and began beating them. The two woke up and attempted to flee, but one was apprehended and subjected to further beatings.

Angry netizens questioned the motive behind placing a bench on railway tracks, noting the serious danger the two young men had put themselves in.
