On Sunday, June 23, 2024, Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewusoale embarked on a historic visit to the overlord of the Dagbon Kingdom, Yaa Naa Mahama Abukari II, in Yendi.
Being the first of such visits for the neighboring kingdoms, the event was aimed at deepening the unity between the Dagomba and Gonja people and ensure peaceful coexistence.
Videos from the historic event shared on various social media platforms show a very successful and colorful event, which was climaxed with a big durbar in honour of the two traditional leaders.
This year has seen significant events within Ghana’s traditional leadership space, as the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu marked his 25th anniversary as the occupant of the Golden Stool.
A historic durbar held in honour of Otumfuo saw the attendance of leading traditional leaders across the country, as well as their participation in several activities to mark the anniversary.
Earlier this month, the Asantehene visited the Ga Mantse Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II at his palace in Accra.
Otumfuo's visit was marked with a durbar hosted by the Ga Mantse in honour of the Asantehene.
