Presidential staffer, Bridget Otoo, joins the coalition of unpaid newly posted teachers in chanting ‘Arise Ghana Youth’ as she receives their petition on behalf of the president.
The protest follows an earlier declaration to strike over unpaid salaries and unresolved grievances if the government failed to heed to their calls.
After an ultimatum, they issued to the government to settle payment by the end of September lapsed, the Coalition of Unpaid Newly Posted Teachers hit the streets to demand payment of over 13 months of salary arrears.
Bridget Otoo blames Ghanaian students for US visa restrictions on Ghana
The protest began in the early hours of Tuesday, September 30, 2025.
According to the group, the demonstration seeks to compel the authorities to settle the arrears and issue the long-awaited staff ID cards required to process their salaries.
Leaders of the group have described their continued unpaid service as unjust and demoralising, vowing to sustain the protest until their grievances are addressed.
