The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, has warned that operatives of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) could infiltrate the camp of the main opposition NPP in the various constituencies using some candidates who lost in the just ended parliamentary primaries.

He noted that the government might try to use such people as ‘political arsenal’ because it does not have any campaign message for the 2016 general elections.

He has, therefore, appealed to all aspirants in the primaries to close their ranks, urging the winners to make peace with such candidates in the larger interest of the party.

“The ruling government is waiting to exploit our weakness and as a party determined to win power in 2016, we have to completely shut our gates so that our opponents do not get access into our camps,” Nana Addo said, stressing that it was important for candidates who lost to work with the winners in the spirit of oneness so as to be able to capture power in 2016.

Nana Akufo-Addo made the appeal when newly-elected parliamentary candidates for Agona West and Gomoa Central, Cynthia Morrison and Naana Eyiah respectively, paid a courtesy call on him to introduce themselves to him.

Akufo-Addo said it was clear that the Mahama-led government had woefully failed Ghanaians and that the only better alternative is the NPP, which most Ghanaians are prepared to vote into power.

The NPP flagbearer said there are many foreign governments and foreign investors who are prepared to help Ghana out of its present predicament if NPP wins power in 2016, adding that it is the general obligation of all party members to work together for the party to recapture power in 2016.

Nana Akufo-Addo congratulated the two candidates for winning their respective primaries and urged them to work hard to win their seats to be able to increase the NPP’s seats in Parliament.

The Agona West candidate, Cynthia Morrison, thanked Nana Addo for the advice and promised the flagbearer that they would work hard to make him president of Ghana come 2016.

Cynthia Morrison also thanked the delegates in Agona West for voting for her and said it was obvious that the people of Agona West wanted change.

Naana Eyiah was also grateful to the delegates for voting for her and promised to win the seat for the party in 2016.
