An expatriate has been captured in a video in a heated banter with a commercial motorbike rider (okada rider) over a breach of terms after he contracted the rider for his services.
In a viral video sighted by GhanaWeb, the white man, reported to be a former local coach, is seen insisting on not paying the okada rider for failing to fulfill the terms of their agreement.
According to him, he met the okada rider at Ritz Junction and asked to be sent to New Legon Medical Centre, but the rider ended up taking him to Lakeside Estate after a long ride around Madina.
He insisted on not paying the rider’s charge of GH₵70 because he wasted his time and eventually dropped him off at the wrong location.
“Bring me and I will pay. I told you to bring me to New Legon Medical Centre, and you brought me to Madina. Do you expect me to pay?” he stated in broken English.
Amidst criticism from a group of taxi drivers at the Lakeside Estates Taxi Rank, the expatriate showed off a bundle of cash but insisted on principle that he would not pay the rider for failing to deliver on their agreed condition.
“This is five thousand Ghana cedis here, I will not give you,” he stated.
