Thirsty? Imagine the fear, anxiety, and desperation of not knowing whenor from where you will get your next sip of water, especially in our humid hot environment. This may seem a nightmare but it is a sad realityfor millions of Ghanaians. Water is life but the importance of water to our existence has been taken for granted for far too long. Our leaders seem to think , there is no water so what ? Ghana is a relatively well endowed with water resources. Ghana is drained by a large number of rivers, streams, waterfalls and coastal lagoons. The mighty volta river alone has a catchment within Ghana of nearly 70% of the country. So where is the excuse for water scarecity in the land of great rivers and streams ? Why is all the wholesome water in the (Volta, Afram, Anum, Ayensu,Bia,Birim,Black volta, Ankobra, Pra, Oti,Nini, Offin, Kakum,T ano, Oda) all going to waste? New Research suggests that insecure access to a key resource like water is associated with negative mental health outcomes.
