THE NPP parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso East, Charles Kofi Wayo, who recently announced attempts on his life says he has given whoever plays on his life 13 hours to join him in his grave. Expressing his readiness to battle anyone or group of people that dare to kill him as he alleged, Kofi Wayo, said ?I am not afraid and I am adequately prepared to face anyone who attacks me?.

Charles Wayo, a.k.a. the Nima boy, expressed these sentiments when the Ghanaian Chronicle cornered him recently at the NPP headquarters in Accra. Pressed to comment on some of his immediate steps to forestall any such attempt, Mr. Wayo said he has adequate knowledge on security intelligence and would protect himself accordingly.

He warned, ?Those plotting against me should rather be careful because I am not afraid to die and will fight them anytime?. ?If you fear to die, you can?t get freedom,? Wayo said in a mixed tone of anger and laughter. Wearing a Khaki car-wash design, with a base ball cap, Charles Wayo said he came to Ghana to fight for the freedom of his people.

At this stage of the interview, Wayo lit his cigar and zeroed in on the state-owned media, accusing them of being uncivilised and thus giving undue advantage to the ruling party, by publicising most of their activities to the neglect of the opposition.

?If you are civilised, you gonna show both sides, ?he said, adding that you only show Professor Atta Mills commissioning KVIPs.? According to Wayo, the state owned media is afraid of President Rawlings? machismo, where as the private-owned media gives fair coverage to all parties, even in the face of intimidation. He reminded the media of their role to fight back on behalf of the people.
