The Ghana Police Service has assured the general public it is in control of security in the country despite several cases of violent clashes between supporters of the two main political parties recoded in sections of the capital.

According to the Police, despite the clashes, the problem has not degenerated yet.

Speaking to Citi FM, the Acting Public Affairs Director for the Ghana Police Service, DSP Cephas Arthur said, “people should not be alarmed at what is happening; the security agencies are in control. We shouldn’t let the general public feel the situation has degenerated as the media makes it look or sound. This is not a degenerated situation.”

According to the Police PRO, the security agencies are all over the country, deterring people from carry out any violent acts.

“They is no cause for alarm; we have regrettable and unfortunately recorded a few incidence though but it isn’t a situation that cause for throwing hands in the air in despair,” he stated.
