A former Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Bernard Allotey Jacobs, has described the level of development and economic growth under the current government as never seen in the history of Ghana.
Speaking on the Thursday, November 28, 2024, edition of Kokrokoo on Peace FM, Allotey Jacobs said Ghana has seen unprecedented growth despite current economic hardships.
“Pay attention from Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the evening; roam the streets of Accra and you would realise that every pub is playing music with people seated and drinking. Kwame, despite the economic hardship in Ghana, we wear clothes, we are not naked. Despite the economic hardships, look at the development that we have witnessed in the past 8 or seven years, it is unprecedented. I am a CPP member; an Nkrumaist but Kwame Nkrumah could not do any of it. Let’s face facts,” he stated.
Addressing the issue of economic hardships, Bernard Allotey Jacobs, who has been a strong advocate of the campaign of NPP Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, stated that economic difficulties have always been a feature of Ghana’s politics.
He lauded the government of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for implementing effective policies and also praised Dr. Bawumia for being integral in the current government.
Ghana will go to the polls on December 7, 2024, to elect a new president and parliamentary representatives.
Frontrunners in the presidential election are Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and former President John Dramani Mahama, Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
