Public University lecturers are still striking despite earlier signs they were about calling it off.

A meeting with the University Teachers Association to look at a proposal presented to them by the Vice Chancellors of Ghana yielded no fruits.

UTAG President Anthony Simons in an interview with XYZ News said the proposal does not sufficiently address their concerns.

He said authorization about how their monies are going to be paid is not clear.

According to him, UTAG is waiting for all their grievances to be settled before they return to the classroom.

Meanwhile, Dr Simons added that reports that some lecturers have resumed teaching in some public Universities are not true.

He said those lecturers might have been teaching sandwich programmes.

But the SRC President of the University of Ghana, Edem Agbana maintains the lecturers are teaching undergraduate programmes.

However, the SRC President of the University of Cape Coast, David Boakye, in an interview with XYZ News said their lecturers have not resumed lectures.
