In a passionate and inspiring speech, Kwame Owusu Danso, the newly appointed vice presidential candidate for the Movement for Change, has declared that the campaign is not just about winning an election but about securing a brighter future for Ghana.
Speaking at his nomination ceremony in Accra, Danso emphasized the need for bold, transformative leadership and pledged his unwavering commitment to the cause.
“Together, we are not just campaigning for an election; we are working for change. We are working for the future of our dear nation,” he said.
He lauded the courage of the individuals who left the ruling establishment to form the Movement for Change, describing it as “the most credible and principled movement in our fourth Republican political dispensation.”
Kwame Owusu Danso’s speech focused heavily on the struggles facing the average Ghanaian, particularly the youth, who are grappling with unemployment and a lack of opportunities.
He expressed his deep concern over the country’s economic situation, noting that many families can no longer afford basic commodities such as food and fuel.
“Ghana’s economy is in turmoil. The purchasing power of Ghanaians has reduced drastically, and many are living in abject poverty,” he added.
The vice presidential candidate made it clear that the Movement for Change offers a clear alternative to the failed policies of both the NPP and NDC.
“We cannot continue to accept leaders who put their personal interests ahead of the well-being of the people. We need a new vision, one that focuses on job creation, economic empowerment, and sustainable growth,” he asserted.
Kwame Owusu Danso expressed his strong support for Alan Kyerematen’s Great Transformational Plan, which he believes will bring about the necessary change that Ghanaians are yearning for.
He emphasized that the movement’s focus on youth empowerment, industrialization, and debt management will put the country back on the path to prosperity.
“We have a clear alternative now, and that is the Movement for Change,” he declared. “Alan Kyerematen is not just a politician; he is a visionary with a proven track record.”
In his closing remarks, Danso called on all Ghanaians to rally behind the Movement for Change and help rebuild the nation.
“This is our time. Together, we will rebuild our nation with hope, courage, perseverance, and resolve. Movement for Change, Ghana will rise again!” he said.
